Franz Kaern (*1973 in Crailsheim) studied Bassoon, Composition, Voice and Philology. He is a student of Prof. Helmut Cromm and Prof. Ulrich Leyendecker. Kaern is a prize winner in Compostion in the Mendelssohn Competion of Conservatories of Germany and the Foundation Prussian Cultural Property in Berlin (2000) and he won the 1st prize in the international Competion of Composition with “Three Sonnets against Vanity” by Shakespeare in Harelbeke/ Belgium (2002). He is an associate lecturer presently on the Conservatory “Franz Liszt” in Weimar and he is composing for orchestra, chamber music, voice and theatre performed by the Theatre of Heidelberg, Philharmonic Orchestra of Rheinland-Pfalz, Young Symphony Orchestra of Wetzlar, Thomanerchoire Leipzig, Viva Nova Choire Munich, Church Choire 1961 Meissen and different ensembles of chamber music.
