This week we present you our colleque Adam Scheck, who we got to know in the rehearsals for the Mannheimer Philharmoniker. Listen to his very nice piece “Elegy” for piano and cello:
Ádám Scheck was born in Győr/ Hungary in 1984. At school he learned to play the cello, sang in a choir, and later he learned to play piano and the double bass. As a double bass player he is invited to many orchestras until today.
He studied composing and double bass and he got his degrees of double bass and solfeggio – chorus-master at the István Széchenyi University Tibor Varga Music Faculty, both of them with excellent qualification.
As an active composer he continuously gives birth to new works and instrumentations. In 2006 his first work, the Dance of Elves was introduced by the Symphonic Band (Hungary). In 2009 his first important work for string-orchestra, the Modern Scherzo was played by the SZE University Orchestra (Hungary).
His first musical, called Nyavalyások was performed in Budapest in 2009.
In 2010 he moved to Ireland and is currently completing his Masters Degree at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick.
“I am passionate about music and consider it crucial that I can do what I love to do. My aim is to make the young generation more interested in classical music and to help people notice and respect the values in every kind of music.”
